Tight end Fred Davis is scheduled to have surgery on his Achilles’ tendon Tuesday in North Carolina, Coach Mike Shanahan.
Shanahan confirmed Monday that Davis – the Redskins’ top pass catcher this season – suffered a complete rupture of his left Achilles’ in Sunday’s loss to the Giants and will miss the remainder of the season.
Shanahan said the normal recovery time is five to six months.
Dr. Robert Anderson will perform the surgery in Charlotte, Shanahan said. Anderson, a top foot and ankle specialists, also treated former Redskins’ safety LaRon Landry.
