The Redskins have had a busy first day of free agency, signing five players including two of their own. Now there are set to try to convince some more players to join the team.
According to multiple reports, the Redskins are going to host two players at the team facility in Ashburn. Defensive end Antonio Smith of the Texans and Ravens defensive back Corey Graham will make free agent visits to Redskins Park.
Smith, 32, has been in the league for 10 years, five with the Cardinals and the last five with the Texans. He has started all but two of Houston’s games at end in the Texans’ 3-4 defense since coming there in 2009. With five sacks last year and 18.5 in the last three seasons combined Smith might be able to provide some much-needed pass rushing punch from the defensive line.
Graham will turn 29 around the time training camp starts and he has spent his seven NFL seasons with the Bears (2007-2011) and Ravens (2012-2013). He has proven to be durable in a reserve and special teams role having played in 16 games every season except his rookie year. In 23 career starts Graham has 10 interceptions, including four last year.
