The Eagles already were going to be without left tackle Jason Peters for most of the 2012 season. Now they could be without him for even longer. As first reported by CSNphillys Derrick Gunn and later confirmed by the Eagles, Peters again ruptured his Achilles tendon, the same one that was torn six weeks ago. He needed a second surgery to repair the injury.According to Gunn, the injury occurred when his Roll-A-Bout, a device he was using to get around the while his injury was healing, broke while he was at home in his kitchen. The report says that the incident cost Peters, who is one of the Eagles best players and a five-time Pro Bowl selection, three weeks in his rehab. Im not a doctor, but that doesnt seem to add up. If you suffer another rupture six weeks after the original one, its hard to see how that sets his recovery back just three weeks.Or, as ESPN NFC East blogger Dan Graziano points out, is this injury even more ominous for the 30-year-old Peters. At this point, you have to wonder about Peters beyond this year. Two surgeries on the same vital tendon for a guy his size who does what he does for a living ... that sounds like a lot from which to come back.It would be a mistake to count Peters out but it appears that he faces a long, hard, a tenuous road to recovery.
