When exactly will Mike Shanahan be fired?

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning left Sunday’s game against the Redskins late in the second quarter with an apparent ankle injury.

Manning was hit by Redskins defensive end Chris Baker while he was throwing a short pass over the middle. It looked like Manning’s ankle was turned under him as Baker took him to the ground.

The Giants QB, who rarely misses a play, stayed in for one more snap and threw a pass flat-footed. The throw was tipped by his intended receiver and it went into the hands of Redskins cornerback Josh Wilson for Manning’s 27th interception of the season.

A short time later, Manning was helped off the field and back to the locker room. He did not take the field with the team in the second half and was replaced by backup quarterback Curtis Painter.

New York wide receivers Ruben Randle and Hakeem Nicks also left the game with injuries.
