Redskins kicker Kai Forbath, who missed Sunday’s game in Green Bay with a strained groin muscle, is not expected to resume kicking before Friday.

“We probably won’t know anything for sure until Friday,” Shanahan said. “We’re not going to push him very quickly.”

John Potter replaced Forbath at Lambeau Field and missed his only field goal attempt, a 50-yarder in the third quarter. Shanahan said no decision had been made on Potter’s immediate future with the team as of Monday afternoon.

As for Forbath, Shanahan said the hope is he'll be able to resume kicking later this week.

“His first day of kicking will probably be on Friday, then we’ll get a good feel,” Shanahan said.
