Kyle Shanahan, 34, has been aN NFL coordinator for six seasons, spending the past four in Washington after a two-year stint in Houston. Last season, the Redskins ranked ninth yards per game (369.7) and 23rd in points (20.9). The season before that, Shanahan was praised for his work with Robert Griffin III and an innovative offense that led the league in rushing.

Shanahan is one of two candidates being considered by the Dolphins. The team also interviewed Eagles quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor.

The Dolphins fired offensive coordinator Mike Sherman after his unit finished the season ranked 27th.
