Redskins Insider, Tarik El Bashir with more insight on RG3's injury...
Robert Griffin III has joined his teammates on the practice field in Ashburn, Va., for the second straight day.
Griffin surprised many observers Wednesday when he appeared remarkably limber and loose only three days after suffering a sprained LCL in his right knee against the Ravens. Griffin’s official status Wednesday was 'limited participation' although the Redskins' quarterback expressed optimism about starting in Cleveland on Sunday.
It’s not uncommon for players recovering from knee sprains to suffer significant soreness and stiffness a day after strenuous activity. But it appears Griffin has avoided a setback.
On Thursday, Griffin again completed pre-practice stretching drills including leg lifts and shuffle steps with relative ease.
Coach Mike Shanahan will address Griffin’s status at approximately 2:30 p.m., although it’s unlikely that he will announce whether the standout rookie will face the Browns.
