Three days after spraining his left ankle against the Cowboys, starting left guard Kory Lichtensteiger was not on the field for the start of practice Wednesday.
Lichtensteiger appeared to be injured when Dallas tackle Marcus Spears rolled over his foot in the third quarter. He returned to the game but left for good one offensive series later.
The veteran hobbled out of FedEx Field following Sunday’s game wearing an immobilizer boot. But Coach Mike Shanahan said expressed optimism Monday that Lichtensteiger might practice this week.
Cornerback Cedric Griffin, meanwhile, was on the field for his first practice since being suspended Dec. 4 for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. Shanahan has said Griffin could be reinstated in time for Sunday’s playoff game against Seattle if he proves he’s capable of helping following a month-long layoff.
Shanahan will address reporters this afternoon.
