How will Washington stop Chip Kelly's offense?

Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather (groin) was limited in practice again on Friday, casting at least some doubt on his availability for Monday’s opener.

“Same as yesterday,” Coach Mike Shanahan said. “He was limited. You don’t want to push it too fast.”

The Redskins have walkthroughs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The team must assign an official status – out, doubtful, questionable or probable – to any injured player on Saturday afternoon.

“You want him to be able to practice,” Shanahan said. “But you don’t want him to go full speed [because] you don’t want to set it back. So he’ll be day by day.”

Shanahan said there were no other injuries to report.

If Meriweather does not suit up, he’ll likely be replaced in the lineup by veteran Reed Doughty.
