The Shanahan Exclusive: Don't compare QBs, let the year play out

Well, Robert Griffin III was not nominated for the NFL’s rookie of the week award. I guess feats like throwing for 258 yards and two TD’s, including a jaw-dropping fourth down completion and a last-minute TD pass, and rushing for 89 yards in the home of the defending Super Bowl champs have just become routine.

So has Griffin winning the award. In the first six weeks of the season he was rookie of the week three times.

But it still would pay to follow my advice from last week and just bookmark and visit there every Tuesday morning because another Redskin was nominated this week.

Alfred Morris is up for the honor after rushing for 120 yards on 22 carries gainst the Giants. The sixth-round pick leads the NFC with 658 yards on the ground and is just one behind Houston’s Arian Foster for the NFL lead.

The other nominees this week, Andrew Luck, Harrison Smith, Doug Martin, and Don’t’a Hightower, were all first-round picks.
