No doubt when it comes to the Redskins this season, NFL mock drafts are drama-free. For Washingtons 2012 opponents, now thats another story. Therefore, leading up to the first round on April 26, we will look at the needs and the projected selections from the pundit class for those on the Redskins upcoming schedule. Next team under the microscope, the Minnesota Vikings, ownersof thethird pick. See the bottom of the page for a list of teams previously featured.Schedule: Week 6, atFedEx Field,4:15 p.m. Needs: left tackle, cornerback, wide receiverSimilar to predictions for the Colts and Redskins, there is no reason to show specific mock draft selections for the Vikings in the first round. Everyone has USC left tackle Matt Kalil becoming the third player drafter and therefore quarterback Christian Ponder's blindside protector. Ideally the Vikings would like to trade down - same goes for just about every team in the first round. Call me cynical, but this is why stories over the last 72 hours have cropped about Minnesota's wandering draft eye and why Kalil is not their only option. Based on need, wide receiver Justin Blackmon and corner Morris Claiborne make sense, but by all indications they are not the same level of prospect as Kalil. Misinformation is rampant this time of year. Consider talk of Minnesota drafting anyone besides Kalil at three just that.
In the second round, Charley Casserlyhas the Vikings going offensive line again withGeorgia TG Cordy Glenn, a first-round selection inmost mocks. For a corner, North Alabama's Janoris Jenkins has first round talent, but character issues likely bump into round two. Plenty of receivers should be available around 35, with names likeRueben Randle (LSU) andAlshon Jeffery (Indiana) potentially still being available.Previous Redskins 2012 opponent recapsBaltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns Pittsburgh Steelers Atlanta Falcons Carolina PanthersTampa Bay BuccaneersBen Standigblogs about the Redskins, Wizards, Hoyas and the D.C. area college basketball scene for CSNwashington.
