Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall has been fined $20,000 by the NFL for his horse-collar tackle on Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, a league source said Thursday.
In the second quarter of the Redskins’ 33-27 loss on Monday night, Jackson was high-stepping in the open field as he ran toward the sideline. Hall tackled Jackson from behind at the sideline, using both hands to grab the receiver by the collar and pull him to the ground.
Jackson responded by shoving Hall to the turf, but he was not flagged for retaliating.
Horse-collar tackles draw an automatic fine from the league.
Hall paid over $60,000 in fines in 2012. He was hit for the same $20,000 for a horse-collar tackle and $15,750 for a personal foul, both in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Hall also paid a $30,000 fine for a confrontation with an official during a game in PIttsburgh.
