Does Fred Davis have a future with the Redskins?
The NFL's 4 p.m. trade deadline came and went Tuesday without a deal involving the Redskins’ Fred Davis.
Davis was being shopped “aggressively” by the Redskins, according to a report on ProFootballTalk.com, but the team found no takers. The 27-year-old tight end has been inactive three times this season, including the past two games.
Davis, who has been displaced by rookie Jordan Reed, has only three receptions and 25 yards in four games.
Last week, Coach Mike Shanahan said he’s discussed Davis’ lack of playing with him, adding, “[I told him] what it takes to play in this league. Responsibilities. Accountabilities. Why people do play, why they don’t.”
Davis will become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
