Welcome to your Thursday open thread.
There was some good discussion about Aldrick Robinson and Leonard Hankerson after Tarik's post on them yesterday. Let's expand the talk to the entire WR corps. How much faith do you have in them individually and collectively? There are legitimate pluses and minuses all up and down the line:
--Pierre Garçon was money when he was healthy. If he's good to go for at least 13 games or so next year he'll be a very valuable weapon. But are you confident in that toe? Will he be missing a good chunk of 2013 as well?
--Josh Morgan was reasonably productive last year but he didn't justify his two-year, $11.5 million contract. He had surgery to clean up the ankle he broke in October of 2011 and he presumably is 100 percent. But can he regain the form that he had in 2010, when he averaged almost 16 yards per catch for the Niners?
--Leonard Hankerson has showed some flashes of brilliance during his career and with a full offseason of work this year he could be primed for big things. But fans still hold their collective breath when a pass is thrown to him. He doesn't drop as many as the popular wisdom would have you believe but that's because he often fights with the ones he does catch.
--Aldrick Robinson caught two long TD passes in five days in November and then disappeared from the offense. The only thing we really know about him is that he's fast. Can he gain the confidence of the coaching staff again and become a threat?
--Santana Moss is testing the adage that Father Time is undefeated. It looked like he was starting to fade in 2011 but he had a solid bounce back season last year. Which way will he go in 2013?
--Will there even be a sixth WR, a job for Dezmon Briscoe or Lance Lewis or Nick Williams? Or will that roster spot go to a fourth tight end?
