Shanahan: "Be tough on yourself."
In Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions, the Redskins defense played poorly. The team gave up more than 400 yards to the Lions, and couldn't make a stop in the late minutes of the game.
The question turns to what's wrong with the defense. The unit has talent, Ryan Kerrigan continued his strong season, Brian Orakpo has played well at times, DeAngelo Hall scored another touchdown off an interception, and yet the team has been historically bad.
Do the Skins defensive woes stem from a lack of personnel? Is the scheme wrong? Should defensive coordinator Jim Haslett make some changes? Are missed tackles to blame?
There are young players throughout the secondary, is that an issue? Does the team need more experience at safety?
