Your Friday open thread:
Hope everybody got through the storms yesterday, which still packed some punch although they did not reach derecho levels on a widespread basis. The Redskins are trying to avoid a disaster at quarterback by figuring out how best to keep RG3 upright and taking all of the snaps. I wrote about what Kyle Shanahan had to say about possible changes to the offense here and here. He says, as Mike Shanahan has before, that the read option is safer for his quarterback.
Simple question: Do you buy it? Will the read option keep Griffin healthier because he only runs the ball when there is nobody there to hit him? Or does the scheme expose him to too many cheap hits?
