Your Friday morning open thread:
In between RG3 news moments they did play a football game last night. The score wasn't important (the Redskins won 30-12). But what individual players did was important to their chances of making the 2013 Redskins. Who do you think helped themselves and who locked up a roster spot and who ensure themselves a visit from The Turk?
To me, on the plus side:
--Evan Royster doesn't have breakaway speed but he can find holes and may have shown that he is the best option to be the every down back if anything happens to Alfred Morris.
--Dez Briscoe made some plays early including a 66-yard reception (not sure how he didn't score on that). But then he went out early with a shoulder problem. If he's healthy and if the Redskins carry a sixth WR, he's probably in.
--I'd mention Chris Thompson but I think he already had a spot sewed up.
On the down side:
--It just doesn't look like Tony Pashos can move well enough to play in this offense.
--Jawan Jamison averaged just 3.1 yards on 11 carries. He didn't have much of a shot to begin with but this probably clinched his release. Jamison needs a year on the practice squad to get stronger and he can come back and compete for a job next year.
I'm not mentioning anyone on the defense because I don't think there were any jobs up for grabs there.
