Your Monday morning open thread:
"Wrinkle" was the word of the month as the Redskins' defense went through OTAs and minicamp. As in just about every defensive player talked about new wrinkles that Jim Haslett is putting into the defense. Nobody was saying just what these wrinkles were, of course. Since they're not saying, it's up to us to figure it out.
What wrinkles would you throw into the Redskins defense? Would you blitz linebackers and DB's more often? Less often? Do you prefer zone coverage or man to man? Maybe they could morph into a 4-3 alignment in certain situations.
The personnel are set so the only thing that can be done right now is to tweak the scheme. What's your fix to the defense?
And, how good can this defense be? Does it have the potential to be a top-10 unit? Middle of the pack? Or are we looking at another year of struggling while the rookie defensive backs learn?
