Your Monday morning open thread:
The Redskins are 3-6 and, their mathematical chances at the playoffs notwithstanding, their season is going nowhere. They are inconsistent in all three phases of the game and they can't put together back to back wins.
One thing they could try to get things jump started is to make a few lineup changes. Here are a few suggestions:
--Adam Gettis for Chris Chester at right guard
--Nick Barnett for London Fletcher at Mike linebacker
--Bacarri Rambo for Brandon Meriweather at free safety
They also could bring up Nick Williams from the practice squad to possibly provide a spark in the return game.
Moves like these would not be "giving up" on the season. In the case of Gettis and Meriweather the Redskins would be replacing underperforming veterans with young players who are the future of the franchise. In giving Barnett a shot, they would be able to find out if he has what it takes to take over the Mike position next year assuming that Fletcher, who will be 39 next year and is in the last year of his contract.
So, what do you think? Would you make any of these moves? Do you have any other suggestions?
