Orakpo indicates injury is not serious
Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo suffered a strained right groin muscle in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 24-23 loss to the Cowboys.
Orakpo did not return to the game and declined to speak to reporters before walking out of the locker room. He did not appear to be limping. Orakpo did, however, tell a teammate that he does not believe the injury is serious.
The pass rush specialist was injured in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter while battling Cowboys tackle Tyron Smith when he reached for his upper thigh. Orakpo immediately crumpled to the turf and remained there for several moments before walking off under his own power.
Orakpo finished the game with two tackles. He leads the Redskins with 10 sacks on the season.
Considering there is little at stake for either team next week in the Meadowlands, it will be interesting to see if Orakpo, a pending unrestricted free agent, suits up.
