The Redskins signed tight end Logan Paulsen to a three-year contract extension on Saturday, according to two sources with knowledge of the deal.

Paulsen became the Redskins’ No. 1 tight end last season after Fred Davis was lost to an Achilles’ injury. The 26-year-old hauled in 25 passes (on 37 targets) for 308 yards and a touchdown.

Paulsen had been set to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday.

His new contract could be worth as much as $7.1 million with incentives and escalators, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported via Twitter. The deal, according to Cole, also included a $1 million signing bonus and it can also be voided after two years.
