Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen hopes to face the Broncos, but he’s not sure the torn PCL in his right knee will allow it.
“It’s sore, it hurts, but just got to suck it up,” Bowen said Wednesday. “Just going to try and do what I can today and hopefully it will feel better as the week goes on.”
Bowen played through a similar injury to his left knee in 2011.
“It’s very similar,” he said. “It’s just something you have to deal with. It was a freak accident that happened to me in the game. It was hard the first week [two years ago], but as the weeks went on, it started to feel a lot better.”
Bowen said his current injury occurred in the third quarter when his feet got tangled up with Jermon Bushrod’s. Bowen ended up banging his knee on the turf.
“I knew something wasn’t right,” he said. “I’m aiming to play this week. We got to see how it goes. I think I’ll be fine. But that’s based on how my left knee was two years ago.”
