The Redskins have reached an agreement with punter Sav Rocca, according to a league source.
Rocca averaged 43.9 yards per punt in 2012 while playing much of the season with a torn meniscus in his knee. The 39-year-old Aussie is also a favorite of Coach Mike Shanahan.
Financial terms were not immediately available but the source did say that it is a two-year deal.
By signing Rocca, who also serves as the holder on field goals, the Redskins have now retained each component of the team’s record-breaking unit. Long snapper Nick Sundberg re-signed on Saturday, while kicker Kai Forbath is under contract for two more seasons.
