The Redskins have signed running back Jawan Jamison to his rookie contract, the team announced Thursday morning.

Jamison, drafted in the seventh round (No. 228), is expected to compete with Evan Royster, Roy Helu Jr. and Chris Thompson, among others, for the two spots behind Alfred Morris.

Jamison is the fourth of the Redskins’ 2013 picks to sign ahead of the start of OTAs next Monday. In recent days, the team has inked safety Bacarri Rambo, linebacker Brandon Jenkins and Thompson.

That leaves cornerback David Amerson, tight end Jordan and Reed and safety Phillip Thomas as the only picks yet to sign.

Jamison, meantime, rushed for 1,972 yards and 13 touchdowns on 486 carries in two seasons at Rutgers.
