With the Redskins’ 2013 season winding down, CSNWashington.com will be keeping an eye on the upcoming college bowl games and the NFL prospects who could be on Washington’s radar in 2014 draft.

What: Valero Alamo Bowl

Who: Oregon vs. Texas

When: Monday, December 30, 6:45, ESPN

Players to watch:

Oregon wide receiver Josh Huff averaged over 18 yards on his 57 receptions this year (1,036 yards) and he scored 11 touchdowns. But it’s always hard to separate the stats from the Ducks’ system, which racks up huge numbers that you can’t necessarily judge a player by his production. Certainly the Redskins and other WR-needy teams will keep an eye on him in the Alamo Bowl but his big tests may come in the Senior Bowl and at the NFL Combine.

The Longhorns also have a wide receiver the Redskins should watch. Mike Davis (6-2, 195) caught 49 passes 715 yards and eight TD’s playing in a Texas offense that didn’t roll quite as smoothly as did Oregon’s. In a draft deep in receivers, he could easily slip to where the Redskins could take him with their second-round pick or perhaps even in the third.
