With the Redskins’ 2013 season winding down, CSNWashington.com will be keeping an eye on the upcoming college bowl games and the NFL prospects who could be on Washington’s radar in 2014 draft.
What: Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Who: Kansas State vs. Michigan
When: Saturday, December 28, 10:15, ESPN
Players to watch:
Michigan has a top-shelf talent at left tackle in Taylor Lewan but he will be long gone by the time the Redskins pick. But their other offensive tackle, Michael Schofield, has size and potential and should still be around late in the draft. "Schofield has some limitations, but there is the size there," said ESPN’s Todd McShay. "I do think he played a little bit better this year. At 6-6, 310 pounds, with the experience he gained over the last few years -- he has a chance to be a late day three pick, or a day three pick.”

Kansas State free safety Ty Zimmerman should be around in the middle rounds if the Redskins want to bring in competition at that position. He was named first-team All-Big 12 for the second straight year after averaging seven tackles per game and returning two interceptions for touchdowns. Although he has good size at 6-1, 204 he is not gifted physically but he makes up for that with a non-stop motor.
