With the Redskins’ 2013 season winding down, CSNWashington.com will be keeping an eye on the upcoming college bowl games and the NFL prospects who could be on Washington’s radar in 2014 draft.

What: Little Caesars Bowl

Who: Pittsburgh vs. Bowling Green

When: Thursday, 6 p.m. (ESPN)

Players to watch: Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald led the nation with 2.3 tackles for loss per game this season en route to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and ACC Defensive Player of the year, among other awards. Almost half of Donald’s 54 tackles were behind the line of scrimmage. Praised for his tireless work ethic, the 6-0, 285-pounder has accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

Although the Redskins probably won’t be in the market for a quarterback (unless Kirk Cousins is traded this offseason), Panthers senior Tom Savage (6-4, 230) is also worth keeping an eye on. Savage completed 61-percent of his passes, including 21 touchdowns (vs. nine interceptions).

For Bowling Green, keep an eye on tight end Alex Bayer (6-4, 257). Bayer hauled in 34 passes for 536 yards and three touchdowns this season. He’s also accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game. With Jordan Reed battling a concussion and Fred Davis expected to leave via free agency, the Redskins could be in the market for an athletic tight end.
