RGIII on hits: "I've been hit... move on... and improve"
Versatile offensive lineman Maurice Hurt returned to practice on Wednesday after spending training camp and the first 10 weeks of the season on the physically unable perform list.
The Redskins now have a maximum of three weeks to determine whether to activate Hurt, put him on season-ending injured reserve or release the third year pro.
“Good first day,” Coach Mike Shanahan said.
Hurt started eight games at guard in 2011 and one game at tackle last season. He had his knee scoped in May.
The other player on PUP, veteran defensive end Adam Carriker, is still working his way back from multiple surgeries on quadriceps tendon.
“There is no update,” Shanahan said. “He still can’t go.”
