The Redskins now have their entire 2013 draft class under contract.
Tight end Jordan Reed, the team’s third round selection (85th overall), signed his rookie deal on Friday morning.
Reed, a Florida product whose speed and playmaking ability is expected to give quarterback Robert Griffin III another weapon, hasn't been on the field yet because of a lingering injury. He was sidelined at rookie minicamp and during this week’s OTA sessions was confined to working alongside the team’s other recovering players.
“We don’t want to throw him in there too quick,” said Coach Mike Shanahan, who described Reed’s ailment as a thigh injury.
Reed’s contract is likely similar to last year’s 85th overall pick, Lions cornerback Bill Bentley, who inked a four-year deal worth $2.7 million, including a $549,000 signing bonus.
