Justin Snow will be the Redskins new long snapper, replacing the injured Nick Sundberg, a league source said Tuesday.Sundberg broke his left arm in Sundays 40-32 victory in New Orleans. He was injured late in the first half but finished the game, snapping the ball nine more times.Snow was released by the Colts in the final round of preseason cuts last month after 12 seasons in Indianapolis. The 36-year-old had been the Colts longest tenured player.Snow was brought to Redskins Park for a tryout Tuesday. His competition was Lonnie Paxton and Joe Zalenka, according to a tweet from ESPNs Adam Schefter.Sundberg, punterholder Sav Rocca and new kicker Billy Cundiff had just begun to develop a chemistry and rhythm, Cundiff said after going 4 for 4 on field goals attempts against the Saints. Now the process of finding that rhythm will begin anew with the Redskins set to face the Rams in St. Louis next Sunday. It was not immediately clear how the Redskins planned to clear a roster spot for Snow. One possibility would be to put Sundberg on injured reserve, though the team could opt to waive or release another player on the 53-man roster.
