Your Thursday morning open thread:
The Redskins hit the road to take on another team that won 10 games and made the playoffs last year. And while the Redskins have struggled at times, the Vikings have been in free fall.
--Their starting quarterback will be Christian Ponder, who has twice been benched by the team. The three Minnesota QB's have combined to throw six touchdown passes and if you factor in sack yardage lost they average 5.5 yards per pass attempt. For comparison, that's over a yard and a half less per attempt that the league average of 6.9.
--They have yet to win a game on U. S. soil. Their one win came in London against the 2-6 Steelers.
--Jared Allen has 4.5 sacks in exchange for his $14 million salary.
--They have the 27th-ranked offense and 29th-ranked defense.
Yes they have Adrian Peterson. But the Redskins have had his number, giving up just 45 yards per game to him.
So, what's your prediction? Do the Redskins take care of business tonight and come out of the Metrodome to take into their mini bye weekend? Or will they play down to the level of their opponent?
