Just yesterday it looked like no other team had interest in Fred Davis besides the Redskins. Now it looks like there is another team in the picture.

Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted the following on Sunday morning:

Redskins TE Fred Davis dined last night in Washington with Bills HC Doug Marrone, GM Buddy Nix, Doug Whaley and other Bills officials.

This isn’t quite a full-court press but it does show some real interest in Davis on the part of the Bills. You don’t fly the head coach, GM, and other brass down to DC because you can’t get good veal in Buffalo.

The Bills appear to have a need at tight end. The player listed as their starter, Scott Chandler, suffered a torn ACL in Week 16 of last year. Lee Smith is listed as the backup and he has eight career receptions.

We will see if this motivates the Redskins to put some urgency into getting Davis under contract.

Update: Schefter is reporting that Davis will visit the Bills on Wednesday. It will be Davis' first reported visit.

Redskins free-agent TE Fred Davis is scheduled to visit Bills on Wednesday. Jets and Redskins also interested.

This is the first report we have had of interest in Davis by the Jets. It appears that the market for Davis, which has been minimal since the start of free agency, is heating up.
