Former Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is a “long shot” to land a job with the Browns after his interview did not go smoothly, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Shanahan, who was fired in Washington along with his father, Mike, on Dec. 30, interviewed with the Browns for their vacant offensive coordinator position on Wednesday. Oakland quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo has also interviewed for the job, Rapoport said.

“Shanahan was the biggest name on the market as far as offensive coordinator searches,” Rapoport said Thursday evening on Super Bowl Live. “My understanding is, it is a long shot for him to land the Browns’ job. I’m told the meeting did not exactly go as planned.”

Rapoport did not elaborate.

Since being dismissed by the Redskins, Shanahan has also interviewed for coordinator positions in Baltimore and Miami but was not hired.
