Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush may be able to play against the Washington Redskins on Sunday but according to a report his team might hold him out.
Bush is dealing with a knee injury he suffered against the Cardinals last Sunday. He practiced for the first time all week on Friday but his participation was limited and he was listed as questionable on the injury report.
But Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting that a league source told him that the Lions may choose to play it safe and hold Bush out of Sunday’s game. Per the report, the Lions “are inclined to give him the week off.”
The absence of Bush, who is a threat both running the ball and as a receiver out of the backfield, would be a good break for the Washington defense, which has struggled in the first two games. In about a game and a half Bush has 115 yards rushing and 145 receiving.
