The Redskins have agreed to terms with cornerback Tracy Porter, according to media reports. He will sign a contract pending a physical.

Porter, 27, has been in the NFL for six seasons. He’s started 59 games, has 10 interceptions, returning three for touchdowns.

Those pick sixes do not include his most famous play, a 74-yard interception return of a Peyton Manning pass for a touchdown in Super Bowl XLIV that clinched.  the Saints’ first and only Super Bowl victory.

Porter will join DeAngelo Hall and David Amerson as the Redskins’ primary cornerbacks. He has the ability to play the slot receiver well so that could be his role.

Porter spent the first four years of his career with the Saints and he spent a year each in Denver and Oakland.

The signing was first reported by Dianna Russini of NBC Washington.
