Running backs coach Bobby Turner will not return to the Redskins, according to an ESPN 980 report.

Turner followed Mike Shanahan to Washington in 2010 after spending the previous 15 seasons in Denver. Turner also carried the title of assistant head coach to Shanahan, who was fired Dec. 30.

Although it was expected that Turner would leave the Redskins, his name did not appear on the list of eight assistants who had been dismissed along with Shanahan two weeks ago.

A team spokesman had no comment on the ESPN 980 report when reached Monday afternoon.

ESPN 980 also reported that special teams and defensive backs assistant Richard Hightower also will not return to the Redskins. The Washington Post reports that offensive line assistant coach Chris Morgan also will not be back.
