Jay Gruden and the Redskins have filled all of their main coaching positions but they are still adding to the ranks of quality control coaches and other lower-level assistants. They are adding a former NFL long snapper to their coaching staff, according to CoachingSearch.com.
Bradford Banta, who played for the Colts, Jets, Lions, and Bills from 1994-2004, is joining the Redskins as a special teams assistant.
Banta, who played collegiately at USC, has been a coach with the Lions for the last six years. He was a special teams assistant and, in 2012, he was moved up to assistant linebackers coach.
In Washington he will assist new special teams coach Ben Kotwica.
