Tandler on Redskins off-season questions
Within minutes of reports that Jay Gruden will accept the Redskins’ offer to become their next head coach, word of the shape of his coaching staff under Gruden is staring to filter out.
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Sean McVay, the Redskins’ tight ends coach, will become the team’s offensive coordinator. At age 27, McVay would be one of the youngest coordinators in the league.
There are conflicting reports on who the defensive coordinator will be but both of the possibilities are known to Redskins fans. Some reports have Jim Haslett maintaining the job he has held for the last four years. Schefter reported that it was possible that Raheem Morris will be the defensive coordinator. He just finished his second year as the Redskins’ secondary coach.
We may get word on the shape of the coaching staff later today. The Redskins may have a press conference this afternoon to announce the Gruden hiring and perhaps the coordinators as well.
