Arguably the three youngest and brightest sports starts in DC have come together, united over something every Washingtonian can relate to. A love of socks.
It was bound to happen sometime, right?
Tuesday night, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, Wizards' point guard John Wall and Nationals center fielder Bryce Harper were tweeting back and forth about a new pair of RG3 inspired socks from Adidas. The Team Speed socks from Adaias come are stripped in Redskins (Griffin's NFL team) and Baylor (his college team) colors with the words "Work Hard" and "Stay Humble" in block lettering on the top.
The socks first hit the twitter-sphere when RG3 retweeted a picture from Adidas and soon the 'Skins rookie was getting tweeted at from Harper inquiring about the footwear.
"I need some of those socks that you got! Those are absolutely legit!," Harper tweeted, "Keep rolling this year, your fun to watch brotha! #skinsitude."
John Wall chimed in later that night asking his fellow soon-to-be DC sports legends "Where mine at?"
We all knew about RG3's love for outrageous socks, but now that he has Harper and Wall on his side who knows how far the trend will go?
