Three days after missing the first game of his NFL career, Robert Griffin III was back on the practice field on Wednesday.

Griffin was sidelined Sunday against the Browns, but participated in a strenuous workout before the game at Cleveland Browns Stadium as members of the coaching staff and general manager Bruce Allen watched. Sporting a brace on his right knee, Griffin appeared relatively unencumbered as he went through a variety of footwork and passing drills.

On Monday, Coach Mike Shanahan would not say whether he expected RG3 to participate fully in practice this week.

“Robert will be evaluated day-by-day,” Shanahan said. “He is getting a lot of treatment. He looks good, as I think a lot of people saw before the game. He got treatment [Monday] so hopefully it is not too long when the doctors OK him and he is ready to practice full speed.”

The coach added: “Like I said, it’s day-by-day. They are going to look at him every day, see his improvement, and when they feel like that LCL is ready to go and he could play, they’ll let me know and then I’ll announce it to you guys.”

Shanahan and Griffin are expected to speak to reporters following Wednesday’s practice.

Meantime, Tyler Polumbus (concussion) and Will Montgomery (sprained knee) also were on the field Wednesday during the portion of practice reporters are allowed to observe.

Shanahan is also expected to address both offensive linemen, who were injured in Cleveland.
