Griffin: 'Everybody's tired of losing'
A day after Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan dismissed a report about Robert Griffin III asking for preferential treatment in film sessions, the quarterback also said the report wasn't true.
“It’s false,” Griffin said after Monday’s 27-6 loss to the 49ers at FedEx Field. “That’s why I didn’t respond to it.”
On Sunday, NFL Network’s Mike Silver reported, among other things, that Griffin had asked the Redskins’ coaching staff to not show his negative plays during film sessions. The request was rebuffed, Silver said.
Asked to comment on the report, Griffin said: “There’s no need to respond to untrue things. To echo what [Coach] said people are trying to character assassinate me and it’s unfortunate.”
Asked why he believed people were out to get him, Griffin said,
“I don’t know," he said. "I can’t say why. Coach said that. So don’t quote me, quote Coach on that. Just echoing what he said.”
