Heres another edition of Robert Griffin III gets it. This is somewhere around volume 587.Last night Griffin decided to go out and take in a local high school football game. He has no ties to Broad Run High School in Loudoun County other than the fact that its in the community where he lives and works. But there he was last night to see the Spartans beat the Patriots 34-20.He also was there to support the Pinkd breast cancer awareness event that Broad Run was putting on that night. He apparently decided to go on the spur of the moment. Friday evening hetweeted looking for some information:What quarter is the Pink'd game at broad run high school in?Griffin appeared at the game unannounced, with the Loudoun County Sheriffs department helping with crowd control. He talked to and posed for pictures with students in the crowd and helped out selling the Pinkd T-shirts to raise funds for breast cancer research. He tweeted thefollowing after the game.Appreciate where you came & you will always appreciate where you are & where you can go. SO to Broad Run High getting the W & for Pink'dEarlier this week, Griffin said that he will wear some pink gear, including a pink edition of the trademark sleeve he wears on his left (non-throwing) arm, as part of the teams Think Pink initiative on Sunday.Griffin said he thought it was important to help raise awareness for the cause even though it has not touched his family.I know it means something to a lot of different people, he said. Sometimes, its not necessarily what youre doing for yourself that can make a difference in this world. Its what youre doing to try to bring awareness to other peoples struggles.Yeah, I think he gets it.
