Starting strong safety Brandon Meriweather was limited in practice on Thursday because of a nagging groin muscle injury, Coach Mike Shanahan said.
Meriweather, who is coming off ACL surgery, saw his first action of the preseason in Tampa last Thursday. The veteran tweaked his groin on Monday, Shanahan said.
“He was limited today and hopefully he’s full speed tomorrow,” Shanahan said. “It’s the groin, the knee is fine.”
If Meriweather is unable to suit up against the Eagles, Shanahan would likely turn to reserve Reed Doughty. Injured players’ official status for Monday night’s game will be released Saturday.
The Redskins’ other 52 players were “full-go” in practice, Shanahan said.
