RGIII, Moss explain comments after loss to Eagles

Tight end Jordan Reed has officially been ruled out for Monday’s game against the 49ers, according to the Redskins’ injury report released late Saturday.

Reed suffered a concussion in Philadelphia last Sunday and did not practice all week. He will be replaced in the lineup by veteran Fred Davis, who has been inactive the past five games.

Reed’s absence will leave Robert Griffin III without his second most productive pass-catching threat. In nine games, the rookie has racked up 45 receptions, 499 yards, 30 first downs and three touchdowns.

Meantime, defensive end Stephen Bowen (knee), fullback Darrel Young (hamstring) and reserve safety Jose Gumbs (ankle) are listed as doubtful.

Cornerbacks Josh Wilson (toe) and E.J. Biggers (knee) are considered probable.
