Redskins tackle Trent Williams has been fined $7,875 for striking Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman in the face following Sunday’s season-ending loss at FedEx Field.

As players from both teams exchanged the traditional handshakes and well-wishes on the field, Sherman, a noted trash-talker who was wearing a microphone from a Seattle TV station, decided to taunt Williams.

“What you goin’ do boy?” he asked Williams as they came face-to-face.

Williams told Sherman he was going to punch him in the face, then he followed through on the promise and stuck Seattle player.

Williams later apologized via text, according to Sherman, who posted to this Twitter account: “Received a very classy text from @TrentW71. Great player! This is an emotional game no ill will either way. Have a great Pro Bowl. Well deserved.”
