Your Thanksgiving morning open thread:
Let’s keep this one simple: will the Redskins win another game in 2013? (Just to be clear, we’re not asking can they; we’re asking will they?)
At 3-8, the Redskins must pick up at least one more ‘W’ to avoid their worst season since 1994, when they went 3-13 in Norv Turner’s first season as head coach. They’ll need two more ‘Ws’ to avoid posting their worst season in the Mike Shanahan era. (They went 5-11 in 2011).
Looking at the remaining five games, the Redskins host the Giants (4-7) and Chiefs (9-2), go on the road to face the Falcons (2-9), host the Cowboys (6-5), then close out the season at the Giants.
One of the two games against the Giants certainly is winnable, particularly if New York stumbles down the stretch and falls hopelessly out of the hunt. Kansas City and a desperate Dallas team are tough propositions. Atlanta has struggled all season, but it should be noted that both of the Falcons’ wins came at the Georgia Dome.
So … how do you see the final five weeks unfolding? Will the Redskins get a win or (two or three) and avoid a historically bad season? Or will they remain stuck in third gear?
