Since Robert Griffin III arrived in Washington in 2012, his burgundy and gold No. 10 jersey has ranked among the NFL’s most popular with fans.
But could his number change now DeSean Jackson -- another star player who wears No. 10 -- has signed with the Redskins?
On Wednesday, Jackson told reporters that he and his new quarterback have discussed the matter but that no decision has been made. Griffin was instrumental in recruiting Jackson to the Redskins.
“I definitely am familiar on the No. 10 [worn by] Robert Griffin,” Jackson said on a conference call with reporters, an hour after signing a three-year contract at Redskins Park. “We’ve talked about it a little bit. But that isn’t a decision that’s been made yet so far.”
Jackson hinted that more discussions will take place between now and September.
“Maybe by the time the season starts we’ll know,” Jackson said before adding with a laugh: “Maybe RG3 will wear No. 3 and I’ll try to get in [No.] 10. We’ll see how it goes, though. You never know.”
