Washington Capitals prospect Filip Forsberg had a goal and two assists in Swedens 8-2 win against Finland Tuesday in Lake Placid, NY.

Sweden improved to 2-0 at the 2012 U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp which features a weeklong round-robin between World Junior hopefuls from Sweden, Finland and the United States.

The Swedes are the defending World Junior champions and they have looked the part so far in Lake Placid, outscoring their opponents 13-3 in their first two games.

Forsberg is one of six Swedes eligible to return from last years gold medal winning team when next years World Junior Championships take place Dec. 26 Jan. 5 in Ufa, Russia.

It wasnt all good news for Capitals prospects on Tuesday though as Connor Carrick, Washingtons fifth-round pick (137th overall) at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, was one of 11 players cut from the United States original camp roster.

The U.S. began camp with 45 prospects making up two teams (USA White and USA Blue), but only 34 players remain for the second half of the camp. Those 34 players will rotate to form one unified Team USA for the rest of the week.

Among those left standing for Team USA are Caps prospects Travis Boyd (sixth-round, 177th overall, 2011), Garrett Haar (seventh-round, 207th overall, 2011) and Thomas DiPauli (fourth-round, 100th overall, 2012).
