Old-school Caps fans will get the chance to see a team of former players take on three local hockey teams while raising money for Inova Blood Donor Services Saturday night at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

Former Capitals Alan Hanglesben [1979-82], Paul Mulvey [1978-81] and Errol Rausse [1979-82] are among the former Caps scheduled to participate in the fifth annual charity game, which will take place from 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $10 and children are free. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The former Caps will take on three other local teams in the round-robin tournament, facing off against the Booz Allen Minutemen, HC Deloitte Dynamo and the Virginia Coaching Cardinals.

Proceeds from the event will go toward refurbishing one of the Inova bloodmobiles, with a goal of $90,000.

Capitals public address announce Wes Johnson will handle the microphone for the event, which will begin with an honorary puck drop by DC101 radio host Elliot Segal. The Caps’ mascot, Slapshot, and the Red Rockers spirit team will also be on hand, along with members of the Washington Redskins cheerleaders.
