News and notes from Day 2 of the Caps’ training camp at Kettler Capitals Iceplex:

Grabovski cleared: Capitals center Mikhail Grabovski’s visa issues have been resolved, allowing the 29-year-old forward to leave Toronto and participate in his first training camp with the Caps.

Signed to a one-year, $3 million contract on Aug. 23, Grabovski is expected to practice with the team on Sunday. His first game with the Caps could come in the preseason home opener at VerizonCenter on Thursday night.

“I feel for him because obviously he wants to be here and not get off on the wrong foot,” Oates said. “A lot of people don’t understand, walking into a new locker room is a tough thing. You kind of want to settle in and have as much time as possible.”

Oates plans on using Grabovski between right wing Troy Brouwer and either Brooks Laich or Martin Erat this season.

Bellville lineup: Goaltenders Braden Holtby and Philipp Grubauer are expected to split Saturday night’s preseason opener in Bellville, Ontario, which will be televised by Hockey Night In Canada.

The Caps’ lineup is expected to look something like this:

Forward Lines

Marcus Johansson – Nicklas Backstrom – Alex Ovechkin

Nathan Walker – Chandler Stephenson – Troy Brouwer

Aaron Volpatti – Jay Beagle – Tom Wilson

Dane Byers – Casey Wellman – Stan Galiev

Defense Pairings

Karl Alzner – Mike Green

Jack Hillen - Steve Oleksy

Connor Carrick – Garrett Haar
